Lillies of Stockbridge

Lillies of Stockbridge

Stockbridge, what an amazig place, I'd not been before today in fact I'd not heard of the place before yesterday and that is a shame. It is one of those quaint little English villages that has been around for hundreds of years and hasn't changed that much. The High Street has an abundance of great shops and eateries including Lillies of Stockbridge, this quaint Tearoom and Bakery has English written all over it. From the fabulous range of teas to the scones and cakes it is just a great place to take a break. Add into the experience Tony the owner a man with a huge wealth of local knowledge and a willingness to share it and it's like a scene from Miss Marple.

As you can see I sampled the scones with jam and cream washed down with a lovely pot of tea, the scones were light and fluffy with a buttery flavour, served warm as you would expect, the jam was full of flavour and complemented the clotted cream perfectly. 2 scones were perfect for afternoon tea and kept me going for quite a while, all washed down with a pot of blended tea it was a great experience and one I hope to share again soon. They also have a selection of sandwiches and pastries which look very appetising and reflected the quality of the venue.

Lillies also has a menu of light dishes for lunchtime and will shortly be opening evenings for dinner and I have no doubt that Stockbridge is bustling with tourists of a summers evening, I'll be popping back soon to try dinner.
