Revitalised

South Bank Skater No.1

I’ve had a couple of three weeks where photography and more specifically blogging for many poor reasons haven’t been at the front of everything I’ve needed or wanted to do. This had , as the days and weeks went by started to worry me, this seems weird as all things being equal three weeks is not the longest period of time but I’d committed to blogging and I didn’t want to fall at the first hurdle.

This is mind I convinced Natalie to take the children to her parent’s in London for the day whilst I went on my own personal photo walk. Why London? I live there for five years, it’s the most visually exciting place during the day and it’s full of friendly people who love having their pictures taken.
I started the morning in Camden a great place at anytime but especially on a Sunday when it’s the famous market, I had the best time shooting buildings, the canal and the people having an exciting Sunday morning. I really felt like I’d captured the buzz of the place and its occupants.
The afternoon was spent on the south bank of the Thames at one of, if not the most famous skate spots in the country, I got their via Waterloo bridge where I shot dozens of images which will make up a HDR Pano of the city. The skaters and BMXers were going off and I caught some great images (see Flickr over the coming weeks).
So was my solo photo walk what I needed? You better believe it a day surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of my favourite city in the world will always revitalise me. Next time you’re needing a bit of inspiration or just need to get away from the day to day and focus on your photography head out to that place that does for you and start shooting.
