Bacardi Oakheart Manhattan

Bacardi Oakheart Manhattan

I've decided to add a little more variety into the blog by introducing some beautiful cocktail into my posts, for 10 years I was a bartender and manager mostly in London and a little time in Israel. A great cocktail can be as complex and delicate in flavour as a great meal and the best bartenders will take as much time, effort and dedication to learning their craft as the finest chef.

Bacardi Oakheart Rum combines the long learnt skills and knowledge of the Bacardi distillers with natural flavours that come from using only the best ingredients. Maturing the rum in charred oak barrels after adding a blend of spices Bacardi have created a full flavoured, smoky flavour with a lovely hint of spice, especially good on a cold winters evening like tonight.

After a peruse of my library of cocktail books I came up with this, not exactly original but very tasty, I've had three now. The mix of spiced smoky rum, sweet vermouth and Angustora bitters makes for a balanced smooth drink that leaves a long lasting and appetising taste on your pallet.

Ingredients

- 6 parts Bacardi Oakheart Rum

- 1 part Rosso vermouth

- 2-3 Dashes of bitters

- Cocktail cherries to garnish

Method

Place 6-8 large ice cubes to a mixing glass, add the rum, vermouth and bitters. Stir 4-5 times and strain into a cocktail glass.

Garnish with cheeries

Enjoy
